Maureen “Mo” Montgomery from Exeter, CA

Aside from watch TCM, what do you do?

Collect old movies, read, go antiquing, garden, listen to old time radio shows, eat more than any human should, and then read some more; usually with a cat on my lap.

What’s your favorite movie snack?

Plain M&Ms on movie popcorn!!! I practically inhale it!

What’s your favorite part of TCM?

TCM is not only a celebration of great achievements in motion pictures, but it’s a unique bridge that can bond people from all over the world. We may not share the same religious or political views, but we can enjoy together a timeless movie that still touches the heart.

What’s your favorite movie genre?

1930s screwball comedies or mystery/comedies.

Who’s your favorite actor or actress or filmmaker of all time? And why?

Carole Lombard. My interest in her started as a family connection. My grandmother was a huge fan and named my mother after Carole. While I was named after Maureen O’Hara, I share my middle name (Carole) with Lombard. I sought out her movies and found similarities in our personalities and interests. I admire her in so many ways and aspire to somehow emulate, in some small way, her qualities. She was a comedic trailblazer, feminist, and passionate about movies. I can only imagine what could have been if she had not tragically passed away.

Who would you be thrilled to meet, and what would you say?

A young Robert Redford. (Barefoot in the Park Redford.) To be honest I probably wouldn’t say anything. I would just act like I was walking by... then pounce, run my fingers through that amazing hair and kiss him. Then I would run like hell and hope he doesn’t slap a restraining order on me.

What do you collect?

I love Halloween and spooky related comedies, whether they are radio shows or movies. I listen to them year round and seek out online streams, CDs, VHS, DVDs, and more to have access to them.

If you had to pick just one, what would be your favorite movie?

Oh my. There are so many classic movies close to my heart. I’m 36, but that’s what I was raised on. Well, if I am going to have to Sophie’s Choice this thing I’ll say The Thin Man. It rocked my world and started my Nick and Nora obsession.
