Claire Daudelin from Chicopee, MA
Aside from watch TCM, what do you do?
Sew dresses for my little Chihuahua, bake, play board games with family.
What’s your favorite movie snack?
What’s your favorite part of TCM?
I enjoy the introduction before and after the movie where Ben Mankiewicz gives brief information on the actors and the film about to be viewed. I found the late Robert Osborne enjoyable to watch, and miss him.
What’s your favorite movie genre?
So many... I would have to say WWII films, a good drama or romance.
Who’s your favorite actor or actress or filmmaker of all time? And why?
Tracy/Hepburn, Bogey/Bacall, Cary Grant, Clark Gable, Jimmy Stewart, Gregery Peck, Jerry Lewis, Abbott & Costello, Henry Fonda, David James Elliott, Catherine Bell. The actors/actresses (with the exception of Elliott and Bell) have long been my favorites because they seem to be able to convince the viewer they were the character they portrayed. They could play a clown in one movie and have you in tears the next and on the edge of your seat in the one after that. They never disappointed me. As for Elliott and Bell, they had me as a fan since I first saw them in JAG in 1996. Have seen just about all their work and I still enjoy watching them over and over in any part they play.
Who would you be thrilled to meet, and what would you say?
Since all my old favorites are gone, I would have to say David James Elliott or Catherine Bell. If I were able to say "Hello" I probably would pass out after that.
What do you collect?
DVD's of my favorite TV shows, usually he ones I watched in the 60's-80's. To see them run to a phone booth to make a call seems strange to me today, even though I did that myself in those days.
I also collect CD's from the 50's-80's. After that I found most of the music to be just noise with a beat.
If you had to pick just one, what would be your favorite movie?
Winds of War/War and Remembrance. It was a great miniseries and I watch it at least twice a year now that I got it on DVD.
