Cheryl Anderson from La Vernia, TX

Aside from watch TCM, what do you do?

I have recently had to quit work of 10 years as a Pre-K assistant for special needs children in order to take of my father who is now living with us on hospice. When I can coordinate with my kids, I love going to the McNay Art Museum and to concerts and spending time with my kids and granddaughter.

I, of course, love to watch TCM. It is the ONLY reason I have cable. I am currently watching Boris Karloff in The Old Dark House and finishing with the remake.

What’s your favorite movie snack?

Popcorn, raisenetts, and Pibb Extra.

What’s your favorite part of TCM?

That you have stayed true to classics and haven’t ended up like AMC. No commercials and no Walking Dead or other series. Although a series having to do with documentaries or old movies would be acceptable.

What’s your favorite movie genre?

I love mostly horror from the 1930’s to the early 70’s and film noir and goofy comedies. Actually, I just love all movies from 1930 to 1970.

Who’s your favorite actor or actress or filmmaker of all time? And why?

That’s difficult to answer. I love Sidney Poitier and Boris Karloff and Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy and Bette Davis and Ida Lupino and Joan Crawford and William Castle -- ohhhh too many to have a favorite!!! They are all just so wonderful!!! Even though I was born in the late 60’s, I think I love old movies because that’s what I grew up on.

Who would you be thrilled to meet, and what would you say?

I would love to have met Milicent Patrick and I would ask her how she came up with the design for the Creature.

What do you collect?

I collect old movie models having to do with Classic Movie Horror. I am currently making my garage into an old movie theater type of room with a Creature From the Black Lagoon coming out of my wall.

If you had to pick just one, what would be your favorite movie?

Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner. I have seen it countless times but cry every time I watch it. It has such an important message.
