When you’re not watching TCM, what do you do?

I'm a freelance writer and part-time podcaster. I spend most of my days watching movies - classic or contemporary - and reading.

What’s your favorite movie snack?

I'm all about M&Ms when I go to see a movie in a theater. At home I'll eat whatever's handy.

What’s your favorite part of TCM?

You mean other than the content and Ben Mankiewicz? The atmosphere and sense of community. TCM is the only network I know that fosters communal viewing and can lift your spirits by indulging in it.

What’s your favorite movie genre?

I'll watch almost anything aside from war movies. If I had to live off one genre though it'd be musicals.

Who’s your favorite actor or actress or filmmaker of all time?  And why?

I'm currently obsessed with Esther Williams. She's an actress you'd never seen in today's cinema. Though her films were showcases for her aquatic acrobatics they had an innocence, a musicality, and a heart to them. Williams is out of this world beautiful and makes you believe in all the plots, no matter how outlandish.

Who would you be thrilled to meet, and what would you say?

I've been to three TCM Film Festivals and have yet to meet the amazing Robert Osborne in the flesh. I'd love to meet him and probably ask him to tell me stories about Esther Williams or Veronica Lake - although, in the case of the latter, I'd probably be the one telling the stories.

What do you collect?

I collect a lot of Disney merchandise. I'm a big collector of mugs - usually themed to cinema.

If you had to pick just one, what would be your favorite movie?

Splendor in the Grass
