Aside from watch TCM, what do you do?

I am 24, and an ASCAP composer, ASMAC arranger, NAfME/ASTA/CODA educator and orchestra conductor, and violist. I have composed and premiered silent film scores since my sophomore year in college in 2011. I am music director of three orchestras in Rochester and enjoy studying and restoring film score manuscripts and Hollywood popular songs. I have conducted extensive research at UCLA, USC, and the Warner Bros. Archives as well as at other universities with special collections. I have also had the wonderful opportunity to collaborate with the late Van Alexander and arranged his last composition for orchestra. Conrad Salinger, Leigh Harline, and Ray Heindorf are three special composers that I also truly admire.

What’s your favorite movie snack?

Buttered popcorn!

What’s your favorite part of TCM?

TCM is my favorite channel on television! I love Robert Osborne and Ben Mankiewicz, and I greatly enjoy their insights. I have a special passion for the MGM and Warner Bros. musicals from the 1930s through the 1960s.

What’s your favorite movie genre?

I love all genres, but I especially love musicals and silent films!

Who’s your favorite actor or actress or filmmaker of all time? And why?

I am especially fond of the work of director Vincent Minnelli and his unique ability to bring out the best in musical performers.

Who would you be thrilled to meet, and what would you say?

I would be delighted to meet Robert Osborne and Ben Mankiewicz and talk with them about classic Hollywood musicals and film scores.

What do you collect?

Classic DVDs, CD recordings, sheet music, and copies of original Hollywood score manuscripts.

If you had to pick just one, what would be your favorite movie?

Meet Me in St. Louis (featuring Judy Garland in her most stunning performance with Conrad Salinger's magnificent arrangements)!
