Aside from watch TCM, what do you do?
Well, I am a 17 year old high school student who was born in the wrong time period. (The 1930s was my prime time.) Throughout the year I perform in plays and musicals at my local community theatre, and I pretty much tap dance all the time!
What’s your favorite movie snack?
Nachos & Cheese!
What’s your favorite part of TCM?
I get extremely excited about finding out who the next Star of the Month is. It is such a big deal to me. I learn so much about these glamorously talented actors, whether I have seen their films, or never heard of them before. TCM does a splendid job of keeping the memory of these folks alive, and continuing to tell their stories to people who want to hear them.
What’s your favorite movie genre?
Musicals! It is just so magical when emotion becomes so strong between actors, that they can no longer speak what they feel, but they must sing it instead! Plus, dancing usually follows!
Who’s your favorite actor or actress or filmmaker of all time? And why?
Ginger Rogers is my favorite actress. She was just a marvelous well-rounded entertainer who could sing, act and dance, and she could make an audience cry just as quick as she could make them laugh. I always loved how independent and hardworking she was, blood, sweat, or tears 'literally' would not stop her. Ginger was ambitious, and she never gave up until she got what she wanted. A very tough gal. Not to mention, she was always a gorgeous and classy lady, even in her later years. Whether she was chasing a guy with a kitchen knife, acting like a twelve year old, or dancing on air, she always put 100% in all of her performances! God only made one Ginger Rogers, and I'm proud to say she is my role model! (Also, Mr. Leslie Howard is my favorite leading man! And with all this talk about Ginger, I have to mention my favorite song and dance man, Mr. Fred Astaire!)
Who would you be thrilled to meet, and what would you say?
Anthony Andrews! I would probably start blabbing about how much I love him as Sir Percy Blakeney in The Scarlet Pimpernel (1982) and maybe take a couple of selfies!
What do you collect?
I love collecting vintage studio photos of actors, because they make lovely decoration when framed. I also collect playbills, movie programs, vintage magazines, and lots of dvds!
If you had to pick just one, what would be your favorite movie?
Swing Time! Nothing is better than a light-hearted, elegant confection of a musical about a guy, a girl, and a dance floor as big as Manhattan. (Okay, I know this basically explains the plot of every Ginger and Fred film but...) Anyway, I will never get tired of watching this masterpiece.
